On Friday 14th August, our sector gathered at the beautiful Gilbert Suite, Adelaide Convention Centre, to celebrate outstanding contributions to community housing for the annual CHIASA Excellence in Community Housing Awards.

These awards shine a light on the work that changes lives in the community housing sector and set a remarkable benchmark for what excellence looks like. Congratulations to all our winners!

Category 1: Excellence in Community Housing
This award is given to an individual or team that has been part of a project or demonstrates practices that achieve outstanding results for tenants.

Winner: Access 2 Place for the Property Development and Asset Management Team
Runners-up: Junction for the Fleurieu Accommodation Project and Unity for the Specialist Disability Housing Project

Category 2: Inspirational Team Member
This award is given to an individual who, through their contributions, makes a positive impact on their organisation, workmates, or tenants.

Winner: Wendy Hurmuzniya from Believe Housing.
Runners-up: Dave Centofanti from Access 2 Place and Brooke Munton from SYC/HYPA Housing

Category 3: Leading Community Development
This award is given to a team or individual for an initiative or project that strengthens social connections for tenants or communities.

Winner: SYC for the Bridge Program
Runners-up: Housing Choices Australia for the Food Sustainability Program and Common Equity Housing for the Co-operative Housing Model

Category 4: Executive Excellence
This award is given to an executive-level team or individual who demonstrates outstanding leadership and contribution.

Winner: Lan Nguyen from Community Housing Limited
Runner-up: Chris Kennett from Uniting Country Housing
